The One-Line Truth

The whole disease in one chain

Everything on this page exists to explain this line.

The body is not getting enough fuel from food, so it starts eating itself to survive.

Your Body as a Factory Running Out of Raw Materials

Imagine a factory that makes cars. Normally, trucks deliver steel, plastic, and fuel every day (food intake). The factory melts down the steel into parts (digestion), stores extra materials in the warehouse (fat stores), and uses some to build cars while keeping some on the assembly line (muscle). When the supply trucks stop coming, the factory does not shut down—it starts ripping apart old, finished cars in the parking lot to get steel and metal back (muscle breakdown). For a while, the factory keeps running and the managers look calm at their desks (normal vital signs), but inside, the factory is cannibalizing itself. If you suddenly dump a huge load of new materials on the dock without warning (refeeding syndrome), the workers panic, grab the wrong chemicals, and the whole system crashes because the assembly line was running on fumes (electrolyte shifts and organ failure). The factory only survives if you slowly, carefully restart the supply chain and let the workers rebuild the warehouse and assembly line piece by piece.
