The One-Line Truth

The whole disease in one chain

Everything on this page exists to explain this line.

Carbon monoxide sticks to hemoglobin 200 times tighter than oxygen does, so your blood cannot deliver oxygen to your cells.

The Poisoned Delivery Truck and Factory

Imagine hemoglobin as a delivery truck that hauls oxygen from the warehouse (lungs) to factories (cells). Carbon monoxide is like a super-glue that permanently locks onto the truck's cargo bay, so the truck looks normal but cannot load or unload oxygen—it just drives empty routes forever. Meanwhile, inside each factory, carbon monoxide also gums up the assembly line (mitochondrial electron transport chain), so even if a truck somehow delivers oxygen, the factory machines cannot use it to make power. The truck keeps driving faster (heart rate up) and the warehouse keeps shouting orders to ship more (faster breathing), but the real problem is neither the truck nor the warehouse—it is the stuck cargo bay and broken factory floor. The brain and heart factories, which run 24/7 and burn the most power, start smoking and failing first. Without the super-glue removed and fresh trucks running, the whole supply chain collapses.
