Phase 1 · Understand the Body — Why the disease behaves the way it does.
The One-Line Truth
The whole disease in one chain
Everything on this page exists to explain this line.
Heart rate below 60 beats per minute with signs that the body is not getting enough blood—like low blood pressure, confusion, chest pain, or pale sweaty skin.
The Slow Factory Assembly Line
Imagine a factory assembly line (your heart's electrical system) where robots (the SA node) are supposed to stamp products 60 to 100 times per minute. When the line slows to 40 stamps per minute, fewer finished products (cardiac output) leave the warehouse per hour, so the delivery trucks (blood vessels) cannot fill their routes fast enough. The warehouse manager (your body) tries to squeeze each remaining product harder and pack the trucks fuller to keep deliveries steady, but once the stamping rate drops below 30 per minute, even maximum effort cannot ship enough goods—customers (organs) start complaining about empty shelves (hypoperfusion). The robot slowdown happens because someone turned down the power (medications, low oxygen to the node), the assembly instructions got jumbled (electrolyte chaos), or a brake pedal (vagus nerve) is jammed down—but the fix is always the same: get the stamping rate back up or the whole delivery system collapses.
